This is my first time on your site. Great you have this! My 1977 sled has been a trooper over the years. Never had many problems with it until recently and it doesn't get used as much anymore. When I do ride it there is a sudden jerking at higher speeds. It is quick and random and usually happens in deeper snow. Almost seems like it is coming from the track but I can't be sure. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you for your help!

Check your track tension, there should be a 1 1/2 inches of slack in the middle of the track with moderated pull down force, also, both sides of track must be adjusted equally.

If track is loose can it be tightened? How is this done? Or do I need a new track?
Thanks again!

at the back of the sled o the rear axel assembly, there is a bolt on each side, tighten it up to make the track tighter, make sure you adjust both sides equally, if you tighten all the way and it is still loose, there are extra holes in the tunnel to slide the whole axle assembly back a nothch and than tightened it up and you should be set.

Hey Ryan, I found the problem with the track. Yes it was loose, but both adjustment brackets are broken and I need to take both off. I have a friend that can make me new ones however can I take them off without disrupting that spring assembly? How much tention is on those springs? Does the whole rear track drop down?
Thanks, John
